FAQ
Casa Azzurra is a lovely apartment located on the first floor with stunning views over the surrounding Tuscan countryside. Located on the edge of this attractive hamlet the apartment has two bedrooms comfortably accommodating 4 people.

The house is accessed from the garden via a flight of stone steps. A door on the left leads into the comfortably furnished lounge with sofa, TV, DVD, stereo and writing desk.

The main feature of the room is the brick built open fireplace. The apartment has the traditional Tuscan terracotta tiled floors and tiled and beamed ceilings throughout.

At the far end of the lounge is the well equipped kitchen, which has fitted units with built in oven and gas hob above, a dishwasher and fridge/freezer. To one side there is a wooden dining table with four matching chairs.

Up a couple of steps from the hall there are the two bedrooms one with double bed, the second has twin beds.  Both bedrooms have wonderful views from the windows.

The bathroom has a WC, basin and shower. Next to the bathroom is the utility/laundry room which is where the washing machine is located.

Outside is the apartment’s private garden which has been planted with Mediterranean shrubs and flowers and there are several young olive trees. The garden has a dining table and chairs -perfect for outdoor entertaining; there are also sunloungers and a parasol. The hamlets shared swimming pool is only a few steps away.

The apartment has wonderful views from every window of the surrounding Tuscan countryside.

There are 4 electronic mosquito deterrents around the house.

We have had a fantastic time in this wonderful villa. The pool was great and the home was very confortable (but we would have preferred 2 more armchairs in the leaving room). We had a great time exploring the surrounding area, and would recommend visits to Firenze (get there early), ...

Borgo Bonorli is a hamlet of 8 houses that are nestled in a peaceful location surrounded by the Chianti hills.  There are fantastic views over the olive and vine covered hills from one side of the property, while on the other sides it overlooks the gentle slopes of the forested hills.

The large pool is invitingly situated in the well-manicured gardens and looks out across the hills to the town of Poggibonsi and on towards the medieval town of San Gimignano.

Most of the owners at this well restored typical Tuscan country property do not rent their houses so the location is ideal for a quiet and relaxing getaway. The location is superb for exploring the Chianti countryside on long walks or bike rides.

Pool Info

The pool is surrounded by a large lawn ideal for relaxing and enjoying the warm Tuscan sun and the beautiful views around you. There is a wooden fence around the pool giving a lovely rustic country look.

There are no sun loungers but each house has it's own sun loungers and garden furniture.
It is open from June to September and is 10 x 5 meters.

Nearest town

Poggibonsi which is 9km away is the nearest town, this is a large working town where there are many shops and supermarkets. There is a good restaurant 6km away called Pestello, this on the road towards the town Castellina. There are many other restaurants from which you can choose in Castellina and Poggibonsi.

We have had a fantastic time in this wonderful villa. The pool was great and the home was very confortable (but we would have preferred 2 more armchairs in the leaving room). We had a great time exploring the surrounding area, and would recommend visits to Firenze (get there early), Siena, Castellina in Chianti, Radda in Chianti, Monteriggioni (superb) and San Gimignano. The pizzeria on the road to Castellina does excellent take-aways.
Above all we have appreciated the peace and quiet of the location which, when coupled with the wonderful weather (even the rain was fun) has resulted in a brilliant and memorable holiday. The Pethybridge Family

We had a wonderful time in the region and relaxing by the pool. There were some amazing lightning storms at night too for which we had front-row seats!

It's a very lovely house, we immediately felt home when we came here.
The area is really amazing, what a beautiful view when you look out of the window from the kitchen. We had a lovely garden, really big and a lot of olive trees. The house is also very nice, beautiful bedrooms and a good kitchen.
The DVD player was also a good thing, very luxe! We had a good week at Casa Azzurra, we really enjoyed it.
Thank you very much for the good care and the lovely house.

Casa Azzurra
What were the highlights of your holiday?
The view from the kitchen window is one of the best we have seen anywhere in Tuscany - at any time of day. An unexpected concert of baroque music in the church square of San Gimignano after dark one Saturday evening. Finding that the water temperature in the pool was 31C !
what was your overall impression of the accommodation?
Casa Azzura is an excellent size for a family of four. All the rooms are large enough and all have fantastic views. The garden space is really nice and is close to the pool allowing for lounging between dips and a little al-fresco dining . There were a lot of comments on the To-Tuscany website about the approach road - it has been fixed up this year and was not at all bad - no problem to negotiate in a family saloon. The surface is gravel though and is used by farm machinery so it will get fairly rutted. I think the main thing that surprises people is that it takes more than ten minutes to cover the 3.5km (unless you're in a rental car!) and it's easy to give up on the arrival instructions the first time you arrive.
Did you have any unpleasant surprises?
The miniature furniture. The double bed is the smallest we have ever seen (150cm wide I think). It was very difficult for two adults to sleep comfortably. The same applies to the sofa - it barely seats two and it is the only easy chair in the apartment. The furniture is good quality and comfortable enough, just too small.
Do you have any other comments? Some insect nets on the windows would have been really nice. We had to close the windows as soon as we lit the lights at night to avoid mosquitos and it got quite stuffy.[TT comment: There are 4 electronic mosquito deterrents around the house and 3 electric fans]

Was waren die Highlights Ihres Urlaubs? Die schöne und ruhige Lage der Wohnung
Wie war Ihr Gesamteindruck von der Unterbringung? Sehr gut

Was waren die Highlights Ihres Urlaubs?

Dear Dympna Docherty:
The To-Tuscany service was most excellent and my wife and I had no
negative concerns about it.  What was especially helpful was the
information e-mail that you sent about a week before our holiday.
Our accommodation villa apartment was excellent and it was exactly
how it was described on your web-site.  We were met by our host who
explained everything that we needed to know.  The apartment was very,
very clean when we arrived (and we tried our best to leave it that
way when we left).
Of course the highlights of our holiday were the Tuscan landscape
views, friendliness of the people and the delicious food.  No
surprise because my wife and I have been to Italy before.
The only suggestion that I have regarding the website is to indicate
whether or not the apartment has a telephone and, if not, to suggest
that people consider having a cellphone for emergencies.  We did not
bring a cellphone which made every trip on the rocky road from and to
the apartment to the highway a bit tense because, if we had a flat
tire or other accident in the apartment road we had no way to call
for help.  Next time, we will be bringing a cellphone. for emergencies.
Thank you.
Robert (Accommodation: Boscaiolo)

(We feel we may be shooting ourselves in the foot should others hear about this!):- excellent!  The peace & quiet was stunning, as was the view.  The pictures in the brochure looked lovely but the reality was better.  We were directed by our neighbours to a lovely restaurant - Il Toppa in San Donato - the food & the setting were lovely

The accommodation (Casa Azzurra) was excellent. It was clean and very well presented. The location was idyllic and the local residents were all very friendly and helpful. The pool was lovely.
Many thanks

I like To Tuscany, partly because it has a tremendous range of villas, and partly because (unlike many companies) it has an excellent website that provides what you really want when choosing a villa.

Our accommodation, which cost less than £800 for the week, is in a converted stone farmhouse next to a 12th Century Franciscan chapel. There is a pergola shaded by vines round the back here we quickly settle into a rhythm of eating long pasta suppers while the shadows lengthen.
