Casa ai Carfini is a traditionally built Tuscan villa, located on a family run farm that produces Chianti wine and vegetables. The villa has its own private gardens and shares a newly built pool with one other villa.
Outside there is a well maintained small private, part walled garden which has a paved area with a barbeque. The garden has a dining table with chairs as well as umbrellas and reclining chairs for sunbathing.
The large part wooded arched entrance door opens into a small lobby area, to the left of which is a bathroom with shower. This is also where the washing machine is located. Directly ahead is the lounge, and from here doors lead of to all parts of the house. The property has the traditional Tuscan tiled floors and brick vaulted ceilings throughout.
The lounge has a double bed against one wall with a folding screen for privacy. Part wooded double doors open out into the garden. In one corner is a large open feature fireplace, next to which there is a sofa and a TV.
The attractive master bedroom has a double bed, large wooden wardrobe with matching furniture and a TV. Part wooded double doors open out onto the private garden. The ensuite bathroom has a full size bath and hand held shower, basin and WC.
The second bedroom is a single, and has built in cupboards over the sleeping area, a desk and chair, and TV. The ensuite bathroom has a shower, basin and WC.
The kitchen has an oven with hobs, microwave and fridge, to one side there is a wooden dining table with matching chairs.
This traditional Tuscan villa is in a good location approximately 5km from Poggibonsi and within easy reach of Florence and Sienna. There is a restaurant nearby within walking distance of the property.

Carfini is located in the Tuscan countryside, surrounded by farmland and vineyards. Built on a family run farm which produces Chianti wine and vegetables, the villa shares a pool with one other villa - La Strolla which makes it ideal for families or friends wishing to holiday together. The villa is only 5km from Poggibonsi and within easy reach of both Florence and Siena.
The newly built pool is located 30 metres from the property. This is shared with the villa opposite, La Strolla. The pool has a paved surround with plenty of loungers, tables, chairs and umbrellas. To one side there is a grassed area, planted with trees and vines.

Guests of Casa ai Carfini have access to a shared pool which is located a short distance from the villa. The pool is shared with guests of another 2 properties and the owners. This pool is built sunken pool and it is located in an elevated position with views of the Tuscan hillside. The single Roman ended shaped pool has a paved surround and plenty of loungers and umbrellas.
The pool measures 12x6 with internal steps leading down into the shallow end. There is ladder access at the deep end. The depth is 1.2 metres increasing to 1.5 metres at the deepest point. The pool is open from the 20th April until the 30th October.
Nearest town
The nearest town is Poggibonsi which is 4km away. This town has several shops and restaurants and most other amenities. Before entering into Poggibonsi there is a large PAM supermarket that is occasionally open on Sunday mornings.

Wie war Ihr Gesamteindruck von der Unterbringung? Angenehme typisch toskanische Optik außen und innen, ruhige Lage - bestens geeignet für erholsame Tage. Die Ausstattung hat uns sehr gefallen, war gepflegt und zweckmäßig. Sehr angenehm war, dass für jede Familie bzw. Mietpartei ein separates Bad zur Verfügung stand.
Gab es unangenehme Überraschungen?
1. Nicht zu allen Elektrogeräten waren die Stecker passend zum italienischen Steckdosenstandard. Der Verwalter hat uns abernoch am Abend des Anreisetages eine Verteilersteckdosenleiste zukommen lassen und das Problem war damit behoben! Vielleicht wäre ein entsprechender Hinweis zur Ausstattung auf der Homepage sinnvoll.
2. Stromausfall am Abreisetag - ich habe mich aber an den außerhalb des Hauses befindlichen Hausanschluss mit der Hauptsicherung erinnert und die Sicherung wieder eingeschaltet.
Haben Sie andere Anmerkungen? Ständig Utensilien von der Anzahl her prüfen/prüfen lassen. Es fehlte z.B. ein Teelöffel.

Our accommodation, which cost less than £800 for the week, is in a converted stone farmhouse next to a 12th Century Franciscan chapel. There is a pergola shaded by vines round the back here we quickly settle into a rhythm of eating long pasta suppers while the shadows lengthen.
