| Buongiorno, We have a busy few months ahead of us at To Tuscany!
Firstly, in just a couple of weeks, we will launch our brand new and exciting website. We hope you will all like it as much as we have all enjoyed the planning of it.
The new website also allows us to showcase our new To Tuscany photocompetition which was detailed in last months newsletter (and a reminder is printed below - remember the cut off date for entries is 31st October!!)
The beginning of October saw a bumper amount of riders arrive in Gaiole in Chianti to take place in the L'Eroica bike race. The participants (particularly in the 'long race') really are 'heros', all helped along by the amazing refreshments stops which include stews, anti-pasti and wines!
The next To Tuscany newsletter will be our Christmas edition.

LAUNCH OF THE NEW TO TUSCANY WEBSITE |
 We are all very excited at To Tuscany as it is just a few weeks until we launch our brand new look on the website.After many months of research, planning and setting up, we can definitely say that we are going to stand out from the crowd. The new website has been designed to be more 'user-friendly' and takes advantage of the many improvements in technology since we launched. We have also been taking into account many of the suggestions made by our guests on our questionnaires, so we also have you to thank too. Launch announcements will be made on our Facebook and Twitter (@ToTuscany) accounts.

L'EROICA HISTORIC BIKE RACE | ||
Congratulations to all those who came to Gaiole in Chianti at the start of the month to participate in the 2011 L'Eroica Historic Cycle Race.
With nearly 4000 entrants this year, it was always going to be a busy day but special congratulations must go to Sean Caulfield (the owner of To Tuscany) who completed the full 205km distance, and to Mikolaj Wierzbicki (the To Tuscany agent in Poland) who completed the 135km distance.
We know that there were a number of To Tuscany guests also racing and we would like to congratulate all of you.
For those interested in taking part in the 2012 event you will find below a list of the rules and the 2011 prices. You need to also keep an eye on the L'Eroica website for confirmation of the date of the race and the opening date for registration.
Registration for the event is through the L'Eroica website. It opens at the start of February 2012 and closes at the beginning of September. Fees increase depending on when you enter - they start at 30 Euros in February and increase to 100 Euros on the weekend of the event for the final 100 places. Note the field is limited to 4,000 riders with just 500 spaces allocated to 'foreign' riders so you need to book fast.
There are specific requirements for the bikes allowed to participate: 2. There must be no internal cables 3. Clipless pedals are not allowed
Bikes that were built before 1989 are preferred, ALL bikes are checked and rules are strictly enforced.

REMINDER OF THE NEW & IMPROVED TO TUSCANY PHOTOCOMPETITION! |
To Tuscany have been running the photocompetition for a number of years now and we have decided it was time for a 'facelift' which would make the most of the current technology available. The new style photocompetition will apply to this years entries and means that each entrant will have one photo chosen (from their maximum of 5) by the To Tuscany staff; this photo will then be displayed on the To Tuscany website and will be open to a public voting system to determine the top 5. The photos will be displayed on a special page on our website between 1st January 2012 and 6th February 2012, voting buttons will be available for anyone to decide which photo they like the best. At the end of the voting period (and subject to scrutiny of the voting to make sure there are not multiple votes from the same people), the top 5 photos will be decided and prizes will be allocated accordingly. Prizes will be improved in accordance with the new look: First prize wins a top of the range compact digital camera or a voucher for 250 Euros off a 2012 To Tuscany holiday. Second and Third place will each receive a compact digital camera. Consolation prizes will be awarded to the 4th and 5th place entries. (There are no cash alternatives for the prizes awarded) Because of the new voting system, the closing date for entries to the photocompetition has been changed to midnight on MONDAY 31st October 2011. ALL people that have already entered the competition will be contacted with the full Terms and Conditions of the new photocompetition as soon as the details and webpage have been completed. If you havent already sent in your photos, there is still time but dont be late - entries received after midnight on 31st October can not be considered for this years competition. How to enter:
1. Select up to a maximum of 5 photographs from your 2011 Tuscan vacation. NB: Entries can ONLY be submitted as digital JPEG format 2. Give each photo a Title which describes the photograph. 3. Email your entries to dympna@to-tuscany.com and remember to include: - a title for each entry - your To Tuscany holiday booking reference (which will begin with T11) - Your contact details: (full name, address and phone number)
