Silvia at Fattoria la Pieve

Located in the new part of Fattoria La Pieve the villa Silvia is a welcoming semi-detached ground floor house with a wonderful furnished terrace that has a breathtaking view of the Southern Tuscan hills that surround the property.
The covered terrace furnished with a table, chairs and a barbeque to enjoy outdoor meals leads up some steps into the main living area. This room has a fully equipped kitchenette that includes gas hobs, electric oven and fridge/freezer. In one corner there is a working fireplace.
Also in the room there is a wooden dining table that comfortably seats 4 people. To one side there is a large sofa-bed and Sat TV. This living area is typically Tuscan with its terracotta floors, coloured walls and ceilings with wooden beams.
On one side of the living area there is a double bedroom with en-suite bathroom with shower.
To the other side is a small hall which leads to a twin bedroom and a bathroom with shower. The twin room can be made into a double on request when booking. If you do not request this the villa will be as described.
The windows have fly screens.

Silvia at Fattoria la Pieve

Fattoria La Pieve is an old farm estate which has been converted into a comfortable hamlet of holiday villas. The hamlet is composed of three buildings with a total of 12 villas. Situated in the hills between the Maremma coast and the Monte Amiata this property provides a lovely location to explore Southern Tuscany.
The shared pool is located a little further down the slope of the hill on which the farm is located. From this area the view of the rolling hills covered with olive groves, fields and woods is completely breathtaking. The large pool also has a baby pool attached to it.
Two of the buildings are the original stone buildings of the property and the third is newly built maintaining the typical Tuscan style. The gardens of the property are simply looked after to maintain the effect of the typical Tuscan farm. All around the property there are olive trees which the owners use to produce local olive oil.
Fattoria la Pieve is an excellent place from which to explore both the mountains and seaside of Southern Tuscany. The coast offers gentle beaches, natural parks, fishing villages, resort towns all facing the clear waters of the Gulf of Argentario in the Mediterranean sea. The famous spa establishment of Saturnia is thirty minutes drive away.
Close to the apartments is a well-stocked grocery store run by the owners. This is also open on Sunday mornings.

Pool Info
The swimming pool is located down several stone steps from the villas. The path passes through fields dotted with olive trees. From its position the pool has a gorgeous view of the valleys and hills that make up this mountainous area of Tuscany. The hills area covered with woods, vineyards, fields and olive groves, providing beautiful typical Tuscan countryside to admire in all seasons.
Near the pool there are two large covered, wooden pergolas which provide shade from the warm Tuscan sun, there are no umbrellas around the pool. There are several sun-beds allowing for an ideal place to relax and enjoy the Tuscan views. The pool is divided into a deep main pool and a shallower baby pool, the two are attached. There are aluminium steps to enter the main pool.
The main pool is 16x8 meters and 1.4 meters deep. The baby pool is 4x4 meters and 0.6 meters deep. The pools are open from mid-May to mid-October, depending on weather conditions.
Nearest town
Just 3km from the property there are small villages which have restaurants and very small grocery shops. Roccalbegna is the nearest large town, it is 9km away. It has all amenities such as restaurants, shops, banks, post office and pharmacy.

However I felt it was very important to feed back to you on our Tuscan break.
We were very impressed with your whole service. The mail regarding what is in the local area was very helpful, and the whole process seemed to be very efficient.
We don't really have any dislikes and would use your company again and have already recommended it to lots of friends.
Your web site is great. That is the reason we booked with you, your site is very easy to use and provides good information and lots of photos. This has been our first totally booked on line holiday and your site has given us the confidence to do it again,
Our Accommodation Anna was fantastic. It was very very clean and exceptionally well equipped. The whole site was much better than we imagined. Very well designed and up kept. We were looking for a very quite tucked away location and that is exactly what we got.
Luca the manager needs to be congratulated on his level of service provided. We had a very friendly but professional welcome. His English was brilliant. He helped us plan our week informing us of lots of local places to eat and things to see, Gave us directions on how to get to places. He was generally very welcoming friendly professional and extremely helpful. Could not ask for anymore.
Our whole holiday was a highlight but sitting in the quite on a sun lounger on the veranda of our villa over looking the Tuscan hills is hard to beat especially in the sun at the end of September.
We had one unpleasant surprise on our journey back to the airport when we missed Rome's ring road and ended up heading straight for the centre of Rome. But we managed to find our way back after a bit of a struggle. So if any improvements are to be made I think to highlight which turn off has to be taken would help . I.e pointing out what the exit sign actually says as it is not that clear when you are looking for it. And I can assure you it is pretty scary heading your way into the centre of Rome.
To conclude we had a great break, your company provided a great efficient service. But it has to bee said Luca and his resort were absolutely fantastic.

Unpleasant surprises: Suggestion - On the website it is not clear how isolated you are. You are a long way from any services. WE found it OK and adapted. The drive into the property is rough and could use some improvements. -
There are many stairs - This would be good knowledge for someone with
injuries etc. There is no way you could walk to a village for supplies.

I like To Tuscany, partly because it has a tremendous range of villas, and partly because (unlike many companies) it has an excellent website that provides what you really want when choosing a villa.

Our accommodation, which cost less than £800 for the week, is in a converted stone farmhouse next to a 12th Century Franciscan chapel. There is a pergola shaded by vines round the back here we quickly settle into a rhythm of eating long pasta suppers while the shadows lengthen.
