La Casanova is a stone cottage resting on a south facing hills 300 metres from central Radda in Chianti, one of Italy's most famous hilltop villages, known for its cafes, bars and restaurants. The cottage is owned by local celebrity and TV chef Luciano Porciatti who lives in the main house behind the cottage, there is a large furnished terrace with superb open views of the vineyards and olive groves or the Radda in Chianti hills. Within an hour South of Florence and 40 minutes from Siena, in the key area of the Chianti wine-growing region, the stone cottage has fantastic views of rolling hills blanketed in olive groves, vineyards and woodlands. From its terrace, that runs the length of the property and is furnished with sun lays and a wooden table with four chairs, day or night you cannot help but be captivated by this amazing vista.
A 5 minute stroll will take you into one of Italy's most famous hilltop villages Radda in Chianti where the locals greet tourists with a smile, there is a coop and excellent butchery and Lucinano's own deli - famous throughout Italy for its specialist products - www.casaporciatti.com. In the evening or for lunch there are several restaurants from fine dining to Pizzerias.
Designed for comfort and convenience, the house boasts a well-equipped kitchen, satellite television and a well-fitted bathroom, all surrounded by a pretty garden with a large patio that leads across to the swimming pool. Florence and Siena are easily reached by car or by occasional public transport.
The accommodation is on one level and the entrance takes you into a kitchen dining area, the kitchen to the left is well equipped with an electric oven and gas hobs, there is no dishwasher. For eating inside there is a table and chairs, plus a sofa for relaxing and watching the news channels on the SAT TV.
To the left a door leads to a small corridor from which there is a comfortable study that converts into a single bedroom using a sofa bed, off the study is a large storeroom with washing machine. Ahead is the bright modern bathroom with shower; there is no window in the bathroom. To the right the ample bedroom has plenty of wardrobe space and double doors spilling onto the terrace.
The property is completely fenced with parking right by the cottage. There are terracotta pots with newly planted herbs and flowers plus a well maintained grassed area to the side of the cottage. The pool is found 30 meters from the cottage through the gate of the cottage across the drive and into the wonderfully maintained gardens of the main house. The owners also have use of the pool.
The property owner and his sister who live in separate houses next to the cottage provide assistance at Casanova they both speak some English.
