One of the most enjoyable things in Italy and especially in Tuscany is the food. Combined with it's wines the cuisine in Tuscany is something not to be missed on a trip to Italy. The way a dish is made here is just not the same as how it is made in the Italian restaurants at home.
So for those of you who would like to learn how to recreate these tasteful dishes once home we have put a link to a cooking school here in Tuscany. You can learn to make all the dishes that you enjoy while here on holiday, whilst being immersed in the culture that is behind the typical plates.
The Palio
The Palio is the highlight of the Sienese calendar when everything stops and everyone descends upon the central square of Siena to witness the spectacular annual festival which dates back to Medieval times. The event takes place on 2 July and 16 August.
Casa Sisti is a wonderful hamlet which has nearby public transport links to take you to the centre of Siena to ensure you don’t miss a thing or have to worry about parking! There are 6 apartments at the hamlet sleeping between 2-4 people and a private house sleeping 8. Facilities include swimming pool, ping-pong tables, free internet access and hydromassage tub.
