Villas in Tuscany & Umbria Since 1998

What were the highlights of your holiday? Highlights were the pool, the weather and the setting. Our family wedding was great and we enjoyed seeing family members that we hadn't seen for some time, Tuscany is a delightful place to visit and we enjoyed Montalcino immensely. Local produce, food, was great and the owner's red wine and Miele especially delicious.
What was your overall impression of the accommodation?    The villa was lovely - spacious with every facility except internet conectivity - probably no bad thing! Pool was fabulous and the views and setting was perfect. the ensuite bedrooms were fine - though the pillows were hard and not the most comfortable. Some of our party had difficulty sleeping due to the noise of dogs - but that appears to be a fairly common occurrance in the area. I personallyh found that the fan drowns out most unwelcome noises off.
Did you have any unpleasant surprises during your stay with us? Our only surprise was the number of cats that appeared at meal times. It took some of the fun of eating outside away. When the owners young puppy was let loose it also made a B line for us - like it or not. Some found it cute - others a pain in the ****. Perhaps non animal lovers should be warned. One of our party was bothered by wasps and subsequently a nest was discovered in the bank which could be dealt with without too much trouble I would have thought.
Do you have any other comments regarding the accommodation or service? I would definitely come back and recommend it to friends.

What were the highlights of your holiday? We went to the Giardino Tarrocchi, which Sara had recommended in 2008, and my tour women were delighted with it! Many day trips out, Porto San Stefano (another Sara recommendation), and Cortona, which I like more and more all the time. We had a week in Tuscany but the overall trip was three weeks, so there were many highlights . . . in Florence, in Cinque Terre, and at Lago d'Orta. The pouring down rain all day in Montepulciano took most of the fun out of that day trip!
What was your overall impression of the accommodation?    The villa is lovely (I've used it twice now), with good bathrooms, clean everywhere, well-supplied kitchen and bathrooms, a beautiful view, easy to get to, and Sara, who speaks good English, is willing to struggle with me in Italian, has good suggestions for meals and for sights in the area. Her mother, Maria, I think, is very sweet and a delicious cook. This year, that poor sick dog wasn't chained up in front of the property, so my heart wasn't broken by the sight of a poor animal every morning. There were delightful kittens who got used to me and came up for a good scratch every time I went outside. Torrinieri has a grocery store, which is unusual in these little towns, and there was a good local restaurant we visited twice during the week we spent there.
Did you have any unpleasant surprises during your stay with us? Just the amount of rain this year. I've been coming to Tuscany in May since 1997, and have never experienced so many rainy, gloomy days, but that's not anyone's fault, and it's still beautiful here.

Was waren die Highlights Ihres Urlaubs? Natürlich das tolle Häuschen. Das absolut traumhafte Wetter mit einer Woche Sonnenschein. Sowie eine tolle Weinverkostung in Torrenieri. Eine Stippvisite bei der Eroica (nostalgisches Radrennen durch die Toskana) Leider haben wir keinen Startplatz mehr bekommen.
Wie war Ihr Gesamteindruck von der Unterbringung? War super klasse, genau wie beschrieben. Durch die Weinlese war es ein wenig lauter, was aber bei so einem Betrieb normal ist und uns auch nicht weiter gestört hat. Als "kleine Entschädigung" bekamen wir sogar ein Fläschchen Wein. Super netter Zug.
Gab es unangenehme Überraschungen? Ziemlich viele Stechmücken. Aber nicht weiter dramatisch
