Valle at Rocca di Pierle

Valle is to the front of the building and on the ground floor and it obtains its name from the breathtaking panoramic view of the entire Pierle valley and the Niccone river.
It has a private entrance that leads into a comfortable lounge with sofa bed and satellite TV. To one side there is a fully equipped kitchenette, which includes oven, gas hobs and fridge/freezer. In the kitchen there is a wooden dining table.
Off the lounge there are two bedrooms with double beds and a bathroom with shower. All rooms of the villa have been restored to a high standard with care taken to provide every comfort yet maintaining the original design and the original materials. Outside there is a table with chairs for alfresco dining.
Valle is perfect for relaxing while enjoying the excellent view of the valley below.
There is a small extra cost for pets.

Valle at Rocca di Pierle

Surrounded by the green hills of the Pierla valley lies the country house Rocca di Pierle, it is the ideal place to seek, and find, peace and tranquillity while enjoying a close contact with nature.
The completely restored farmhouse overlooks an uncontaminated valley and is bathed from early morning to evening by warm sunshine. Its position, 500 m above sea level, and the fresh air, contribute to warm and dry summers.
Rocca di Pierle's central position allows easy and comfortable access to the major cultural locations and natural areas of Tuscany and Umbria as well as unique excursions within the regions. After excursions guests can relax at the private swimming pool and enjoy the breathtaking natural surroundings. Participation in activities such as grape picking, olive gathering and reaping can be organised.
This small property is a single restored farm building that is divided into three accommodations, plus the owner’s house. Each has it’s own independent entrance and outside area furnished with table and chairs to dine al fresco.
Pool Info
The beautiful swimming pool is located above the villa. From here there is a magnificent view over the entire Val di Pierla, this is just one of the particular features of Rocca di Pierle. Every stone used to build the pool was produced and smoothed by skilful craftsmen so as to achieve the most natural and exclusive result. The pool area is furnished with sunbeds and umbrellas.
The black cloth that coats the pool gives the water a warm and mysterious effect. Making the pool very inviting for a cooling swim after a day of sight seeing.
The pool is irregularly shaped. It is 14meters long and varies between 7.5 and 5 meters in width. The depth ranges from 0.50 to 1.80 meters. Open from May to October.
Nearest town
The property is situated on the edge of a small hamlet however for shops, restaurants and other facilities it is necessary to go to Mercatale which is 3km away. Or onto Cortona which is 15km away.

What was your overall impression of the accommodation? Very clean, well appointed & homely. Stunning location. Beautifully maintained gardens & pool. Andrea was extremely helpful.
Did you have any unpleasant surprises during your stay with us? n/a
Do you have any other comments regarding the accommodation or service? The only suggestion - the gated entrance to the car parking area some how be lowered or reconfigured (I'm sure an engineer could come up with a relatively simple design) to allow cars with a low clearance to enter. Our BMW estate car (& also another guest's Ford Focus estate) could not enter without damaging them and this was a shame as it was a lovely, secure parking area.

I like To Tuscany, partly because it has a tremendous range of villas, and partly because (unlike many companies) it has an excellent website that provides what you really want when choosing a villa.

Our accommodation, which cost less than £800 for the week, is in a converted stone farmhouse next to a 12th Century Franciscan chapel. There is a pergola shaded by vines round the back here we quickly settle into a rhythm of eating long pasta suppers while the shadows lengthen.
