Sant'Angelo Relais

Sant'Angelo Relais is found on the working Sant'Angelo farm near Bibbiena. The Relais made up of four buildings, dividing it into two large apartments, two small annexes and a communal living and eating area.
Nestled in the perfectly manicured lawn is a large pool with terracotta sun deck, dotted with sun-beds. The garden has plenty of space for children to play and guests to relax.
The main villa is divided into two self contained apartments, one on either floor. The ground floor apartment is entered from a furnished terrace into a large, bright, open plan living room. To one side there is a kitchen unit with gas hobs, oven, fridge and dishwasher. In the middle of the room there is a wooden table seating 8. On the other side of the room huddled around a stone fireplace there are a couple of armchairs and a comfortable sofa.
Of the living area there is a triple bedroom, with a double iron bed and a single bed. A wood and glass door provides access to the garden. There is an en-suite bathroom with shower. The double bed cannot be made into twins.
Going through an open doorway there is a small hall off which are two more bedrooms. One is a double and the other is a twin. The twin room cannot be made into a double. Both rooms have en-suite bathrooms with showers.
The second apartment is accessed by external stone steps leading up to the first floor. On entering there is a large, bright room with Tuscan terracotta floors and wooden beams on the ceiling. To the left there is a wooden dining table that seats 6 people. In the centre of the room is a sofa with two armchairs. To the far end is the kitchen unit which has gas hobs, oven, fridge and dishwasher.
From the living area there is a small hall, off which there are the two bedrooms. Both bedrooms with double, typical Tuscan, iron beds that cannot be made into twins. One of the bedrooms has an en-suite bathroom with shower, while the other has a private bathroom with shower next to it off the small hall.
There are two annex villas that make up part of the Sant'Angelo Relais. One is a pretty studio apartment, furnished with a comfortable double sofa-bed, table with 4 chairs and small kitchenette. This studio is completed by a bathroom with shower.
The second annex is larger. It has a living area with a double sofa-bed, fireplace, small kitchenette against one wall and a wooden table with 4 chairs. There is a bedroom with double bed and a bathroom with shower. The sofa-bed is only suitable for children.
A third annex houses the large communal kitchen and dining facilities. The large bright dining room has typical Tuscan terracotta floors and is surrounded by large windows looking out onto the villa gardens. The room is furnished with two big wooden tables which each can seat up to 10 people. There is a separate kitchen with gas hobs, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, oven and fully equipped. Outside a shady loggia has tables and chairs for dining al fresco.
On the farm there is a large wellness centre which includes a Jacuzzi, sauna, vitality pool, heated salt pool, chromotherapy shower and relax centre. This centre is for the use of guests of the villas Sant'Angelo Farmhouse, Sant'Angelo Relais and a small bed and breakfast also on the farm. There is an extra cost for the use of the centre.
On the farm there is a lake for fishing (guest must bring their own equipment), tennis courts (bring your own equipment) and ping pong table (equipment supplied).
Within 6km there is the National Park 'Foreste Casentinesi'. The farm's vegetable garden is available for guest's use.
The villa is well divided for families or groups of friends looking for privacy yet wishing to share a property with private pool.
Ideally postioned in an area perfect for a relaxing holiday but within easy reach of the main sights of Tuscany.
A fantastic Tuscan villa with plenty of space for children to play in the large villa garden or explore the working farm on which the villa is located. The farm produces various grains, honey and jams.

Pool Info
The pool is located a short distance from the buildings of Sant'Angelo Relais. It is surrounded by a well maintained, sunny lawn and a terracotta sundeck with comfortable sun-beds and umbrellas.
The private pool has views of forests, and the rolling Tuscan hills across the farm olive grove.
There are roman steps entering the pool, which is 16x8 meters and 1.5 meters deep. It's open from mid-mid-April to October.

Nearest town
The village Poppi is only 3km away, while the larger town Bibbiena is 7km away. Both of these have grocery shops and several restaurants. Amenities such as banks, post office, pharmacy and doctors can be found in both locations.

I like To Tuscany, partly because it has a tremendous range of villas, and partly because (unlike many companies) it has an excellent website that provides what you really want when choosing a villa.

Our accommodation, which cost less than £800 for the week, is in a converted stone farmhouse next to a 12th Century Franciscan chapel. There is a pergola shaded by vines round the back here we quickly settle into a rhythm of eating long pasta suppers while the shadows lengthen.
