Girasole
Was waren die Highlights Ihres Urlaubs? Ausflüge nach Rom, Orvieto, Viterbo, u.a. Städtechen und Plätze. Zwei wunderschöne BAdetage am Meer. Der gepflegte Pool. Das Quartier ganz generell.
Wie war Ihr Gesamteindruck von der Unterbringung? Sehr gepflegt und sehr gut.
Gab es unangenehme Überraschungen? Nein!
Haben Sie andere Anmerkungen? Wir haben einen sehr schönen Urlaub verbracht und das lag auch an dem tollen Quartier, das wir uns ausgesucht hatten.

Quels ont été les point forts de vos vacances? Localisation: proche d'Orvieto et du lac de Bolsene, à 1 heure de Rome (nous avons pris le train pour nous y rendre). Nos enfants ont adoré la piscine où ils ont lié connaissance avec les enfants d'autres vacanciers. Le temps toujours ensoleillé, et les paysages superbes (différents de ceux de la Toscane).
Quelle est votre impression générale concernant l'hébergement? La villa Glicine est superbe, conforme à la description du site; le propriétaire et son épouse ont été très attentionnés à notre égard (panier cadeau de bienvenue, patisserie locale offerte en fin de séjour, à notre écoute et disponible pour toute info).
Avez vous eu de mauvaises surprises? Aucune!

Quels ont été les point forts de vos vacances? - Un pays très accueillant et riche de traditions (cuisine ) et de cultures ( peintures, Histoire...) - Une maison très bien équipée et décorée avec gout , - Un parc et une piscine magnifiques et très bien entretenus, - Un endroit très reposant et bien situé entre Rome et Florence
Quelle est votre impression générale concernant l'hébergement? Notre impression est excellente; Cet hébergement, les équipements, la situation ainsi que l'accueil sont de très bonne qualité.
Avez vous eu de mauvaises surprises? aucune.
Avez vous d'autres commentaires? Nous sommes ravis de notre premier séjour en Italie et nous comptons bien y retourner. Nos enfants ont aussi adorés cette semaine à Mélo : la piscine, les petits déjeuners sur la terrasse, les copains rencontrés et même une connexion wifi pour notre adolescente... Un grand merci à Silvia et Césidio pour leur accueil très sympathique et attentionné.

What were the highlights of your holiday? Orvieto, civita de bagnoregio, the cascades at Terni, Montefiascone, and the food!!
what was your overall impression of the accommodation?    Really lovely conversion of an old house into apartments. Melo was comfortable and had everything we needed. The grounds were well kept and beautiful and the pool and poolside were lovely. Only comment would be that the plastic loungers were THE MOST UNCOMFORTABLE we had ever sat on. I also think the information folder in the house was a little short on information - and some of the leaflets were in Italian so hard to follow.This is a minor point as we like exploring anyway but some people might like to know a bit about some of the fantastic places near at hand -such as civita de bagnoregio, which is stuning and a must see.
Did you have any unpleasant surprises? just the cost of everything -but that is due to the recession.

Highlights: THE ACCOMMODATION, THE VILLA OWNERS, THE FOOD AND WINE BUT MOST OF ALL IT WAS UMBRIA

Overall impression: Superb - best we have ever had the good fortune to stay at. House, setting, furnishings and equipment were all of a very high standard. The owners were exceptionally welcoming and attentive, obviously taking pride in providing an excellent service to make guests stay as relaxing as possible. Everything was provided - down to consumables such as washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, and the welcome basket of goodies was a bonus. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Villa Alfina to anybody.
Highlights: The house, pool and lovely gardens - plus visits to Rome, Siena on the Palio practice day, Perugia, Assisi, Marmore Waterfall, and many other hilltop towns. Best restaurant - Ristorante Carleni (www.ristorantecarleni.it) - was found in the hilltop town of Amelia on our very last day on the way to the airport - it was a great shame we hadn't found it earlier.
Unpleasant surprises: Getting home to pouring rain, very cool days, and real life again....

Sorry to take so long to reply but have away again!!
We have the most wonderful memories of our stay in Italy! Orvieto is a fabulous hilltop town, the villa just a perfect distance away so coffee, sightseeing,shopping all at your fingertips but in the tranquility of the countryside.  Villa Alfina was a perfect choice with 6 of us needing to be together but having our own space, all were delighted and would return tomorrow.
Thank you for the amazing information we received before travelling, we have travelled Europe a great deal but still I found  the information usefull. I appreciated the personal contact and assistance in sorting out our difficulties with our arriving and having to be at a wedding that same day.

Hello Dympna - Just a general response to your queries:
The service and the accommodation were excellent and we had a brilliant holiday. Absolutely magical.
 The only possible complaint had nothing to do with your services or the place or the hosts, but one of the close-by restaurants - Antica Trattoria - charged an extortionate rate for very poor service and awful food - I think us being English and only having phrase book Italian might have had something to do with it. But we were charged double the amount we thought we should be and when we asked for a justification it took them half an hour to produce an itemised bill which was total nonsense!! I mentioned this to Cesidio and Silvia but I thought I should let you know so that in future unsuspecting tourists aren't taken advantage off!

Overall impression: Excellent as were the owners. The only thing I would suggest is that the two bedrooms are swapped to make the one with the really big shower the master bedroom. In size, this would then also become the bigger bedroom. It was all of a high standard and well finished and maintained. It felt very safe and we had a very warm welcome from the owners. The surroundings force you to relax, it is beautiful.
Highlights: feeling totally relaxed by day two which I have never experienced before, seeing the Vatican at a day out in Rome and our 4 year old learnt to swim in the deep end of the pool on her own.

Yes within 8km in Bolsena and 12km away in Orvieto.

Rome 1 hour, Perugia 50 minutes, Florence 1hr 45, Pisa 2hrs 30mins, Bologna 3 hours.
