Set in a stunning location, with panoramic views, is Villa il Sole. The property has its own private gated drive leading up to this very attractive property, set in its own beautiful grounds. The villa has four bedrooms sleeping up to nine persons. There is a train station 15km away in the large town of Arezzo.
The private swimming pool is situated on a lower terrace at the rear of the house. The pool surround is laid to grass and has traditional terracotta pots planted with brightly coloured flowers dotted around it. There is plenty of sun loungers arranged around the edge of the pool and the mature trees nearby provide welcome shade. From the poolside there are fantastic views across the Tuscan countryside with the town of Civitella in Val di Chiana perched on the hillside opposite.
The front door is bordered by raised beds, planted with cheerful coloured geraniums. This opens into a lobby area, from here you continue through to the main living area with its terracotta tiled floors and traditional beamed ceilings.
There is a dining table and chairs, TV with some satellite channels and a DVD player. A brick archway separates the dining area from the lounge which has comfortable sofa, chairs and a built in window seat.
The main focus of the room is a large feature fireplace. This is the hub of the villa and from here doors lead off to all parts of the house.
To the left a door leads into a smaller salon with dining table and chairs through which you reach the well equipped kitchen. There is also a door opening onto the garden.
The kitchen has fitted cupboards with a gas hob, electric oven, dishwasher, American coffee maker, kettle, toaster, freestanding fridge/freezer and washing machine.
There are three small sets of steps from the living area, the one to the right leads into the ground floor bedroom, which has a double bed with an attractive scrollwork iron bedstead and traditional wooden wardrobe.
The middle set with double doors takes you through to the main staircase, to the left of which is a brick archway leading to the bar area, this has chairs, TV and a music system. The final set of steps on the left, take you into a small corridor where there is a bathroom with separate shower. There is also internal access via a flight of stairs to the garage.
A lovely split level wooden staircase winds its way up to the first floor. Directly ahead at the top of the stairs is a cosy lounge with sofa and chairs, arranged around an imposing decorative stone fireplace.
To the right a door leads into a bright spacious bedroom with double bed and large wardrobe.
The single bedroom is accessed via a few steps from this room making it an ideal arrangement for a family with a young child. The ensuite bathroom has a full size bath with telephone tap shower also a separate shower cubicle, and is located off the single bedroom.
A second double bedroom is to the left of the lounge area. This is a lovely bright room with a large wardrobe and a four poster bed.
A further short flight of steps to the left of the hallway takes you up to the family bathroom which has a full size bath with hand held shower. Next to this is another large airy bedroom with twin beds and wardrobe.
Outside, the villa is surrounded by beautiful landscaped gardens planted with Mediterranean trees and shrubs.
There are a few terraces outside, each with a different outlook offering a choice for outside dining and relaxing. To the left of the villa is a parking area and garage.
The villa has mosquito screens on all windows.
Set in beautiful grounds with panoramic views over the Tuscan countryside.
ADSL connection and a computer are available at the villa for the guests' use. This is free of charge.

Pool Info
Situated on a lower terrace at the rear of the house, the pool surround is laid out with plenty of sun loungers arranged around the edge of the pool. The mature trees nearby provide welcome shade during the heat of the day.
The pool is rectangular in shape and measures 10 metres by 5 metres. Access is via a ladder at one end. Pool towels are provided.
The pool has a constant depth of 1.5 metres and is open from May until September.
Nearest town
The nearest town Civitella in Val Di Chiana is only 4km from the villa. Here you will find a grocery store, supermarket, pharmacy and a bank. There is also a small selection of restaurants. The town was once fortified with walls and towers; the remains of one of the towers has had some restoration work done to it. Places of interest are the church of Santa Maria, the Rocca and the Palazzo Pretorio. The second week in September is when the Feast of Grape, Olive Oil and Wine, is held, and there is plenty of opportunity to try the local products.

Did you have any unpleasant surprises during your stay with us? No a surprise because we were advised before trip but it would be nice to add swimming towels to the mix.
Do you have any other comments regarding the accommodation or service? The entire experience was awesome. Dick was fantastic and our hosts in Italy were the best. We will use your services again - maybe even twice a year!

Overall impression: very good at the first contact, and then during all the week. special prize for the garden, the flowers, and the neighbourhood of the swimming pool. the description of the house, and the access plan were very precise, and exact ; we discovered when we arrived exactly what we expected the house was both charming and practical, and quite well furnished for 9 people. We appreciated that the beds were done when we arrived, and the couple who welcomed us was kind We appreciated also that the man who came twice during the week to clean the pool arrived very early in the morning, before we wake up, to be very discreet.
Highlights: all the beautiful places of Tuscany, and the sunny weather
Unpleasant surprises:in fact...no bad surprise !perhaps to have a bigger garbage can, because when we are 9 people, it can be useful to have a big one...We used garbage bags, but a can should be better... [ To Tuscany comment: the owner bought a bin]

I like To Tuscany, partly because it has a tremendous range of villas, and partly because (unlike many companies) it has an excellent website that provides what you really want when choosing a villa.

Our accommodation, which cost less than £800 for the week, is in a converted stone farmhouse next to a 12th Century Franciscan chapel. There is a pergola shaded by vines round the back here we quickly settle into a rhythm of eating long pasta suppers while the shadows lengthen.
