The Chianti village of San Sano is picturesque and full of Tuscan charm. Just a few minutes’ walk from the hamlet is the popular restaurant La Grotta della Rana, with a small grocery shop next door. The surrounding countryside is ideal for walking and cycling, and the lovely village of Lecchi in Chianti can also be reached on foot. Gaiole in Chianti is just ten minutes away by car and offers several restaurants, small shops, a supermarket and bike rental. The location is excellent for exploring renowned wineries, castles and medieval towns, with Siena, San Gimignano, Florence and Arezzo all within easy reach for day trips.
About the villa
Casa Isabella is a beautiful ground-floor holiday apartment with its own charming garden. A dining terrace beneath an old walnut tree, furnished with table and chairs, provides pleasant natural shade and invites relaxed alfresco meals. The well-kept lawn offers space to unwind on sun loungers, while tall hedges ensure privacy. Inside, traditional Tuscan terracotta vaulted ceilings add character, complemented by tasteful and comfortable furnishings that create a warm and homely atmosphere.

We had the most wonderful time at Casa Isabella. This is our third rental with To-Tuscany (two villas previously in similar location) and once again we receive 10/10 service. Our contact Liz (who was fantastic) was there to meet us and we could check in several hours early which was great. The apartment was part of a larger building and looked even better in real life. Huge living area with everything you needed. Two big bedrooms and whilst there were only two of us it was great to have my own bathroom. We loved the garden and being right opposite the lovely restaurant where we ate twice. Was also great sitting in the garden at night listening to the chatter. Beds super comfy and very quiet. Lovely and cool also so didn’t miss aircon. We had the pool to ourselves everyday and would swim in the morning and then late afternoon after a day exploring the beautiful countryside snd local towns and villages. We just loved San Sano and highly recommend for anyone who doesn’t want to be somewhere isolated. We will definitely return. As for To-Tuscany, we already have a villa booked in Lucca next year and I wouldn’t use any othet villa company.
