I have worked with both small specialist tour operators as well as two of the largest tour operators in the UK. Initially I worked as a holiday representative in Europe and then in the head office in London. Eventually I transferred to a specialised tours division, who created individual itineraries for a wide range of groups with very diverse interests, which I found fascinating. Having worked in the travel industry both overseas and in the UK for fifteen years, I decided it was time to take a career break to have my family - a girl and two boys. With my two eldest now at senior school and my youngest firmly settled at primary school, it was time to dust of the little grey cells and go back to work. I am now very pleased to be working for To Tuscany which I thoroughly enjoy.

Our accommodation, which cost less than £800 for the week, is in a converted stone farmhouse next to a 12th Century Franciscan chapel. There is a pergola shaded by vines round the back here we quickly settle into a rhythm of eating long pasta suppers while the shadows lengthen.
