Capannino, Malafrasca - Siena - Siena and Chianti
Small is beautiful, a description that perfectly suits Capannino. This converted barn is a fantastic bolthole for two – what’s more, it’s right on the edge of medieval Siena, one of Tuscany’s top sights. Deceptively spacious, it has a large shaded terrace, set with a barbecue and table and chairs, where you can relax amid the pretty flower pots and look out on the surrounding lush countryside. Inside, a large glass sliding door opens onto a generous open-plan area for cooking, eating and dining, while a luxurious double bed can be found on the mezzanine level. These airy spaces are enhanced by cool white tones and smart modish furnishings.
When you aren’t putting up your feet, there’s plenty to explore in the area. As well as being a couple of miles from historic Siena, the villa is on the route of the famous annual Chianti bicycle race, L’Eroica. If you’re a cyclist yourself, this is also the gateway to some wonderful (if strenuous) outings by bike – you could even try out the famous Eroica and Strade Bianche race routes.
The owner of Capannino can offer cooking classes to her guests, located at her nearby farmhouse. There is also a local stable which offers horseback riding.

Nachbarn, welche unmittelbaren Blick auf die Terrasse haben. Hecke bietet keinen Sichtschutz. Das Haus liegt an einer recht viel befahrenen Straße. Längere Zeit wo man keine Autos hört und richtig Ruhe hat gibt es eher nicht. Bilder auf der Homepage anders als vor Ort. Bspw. wurde der Bereich des Bades umgebaut. Auch waren andere Möbelstücke im Haus (ein Seßel im Wohnbereich fehlte und einer war ein komplett anderer). Außerdem war das Haus unaufgeräumter als auf den Bildern. Auch hier befand sich im Haus mehr Deko und Gegenstände wie Stühle, die es so auf den Fotos nicht zu sehen war. In manchen Bereich wurde es versäumt gründlich zu reinigen (Spinnenweben hier und da). Außerdem ist im Bereich der Dusche und in unmittelbarer Nähe zum Bad an den Wänden schwarzer Schimmel.
Das Grundstück ist sehr schön. Es ist rundherum eingezäunt. Die Eigentümerin war überhaus freundlich und sehr hilfsbereit was Informationen und Vorschläge für Unternehmungen anging. Supermärkte und Parkplatz (kostenpflichtig) zum Erreichen der Innenstadt in unter 10 Minuten Autofahrt erreichbar.
Wir haben die Spaziergänge - neben alle Sehenswürdigkeiten in einem Umkreis von ca 50 Kilometern - rund um das nahegelegene Weingut San Georgio a Lapi sehr genossen. Die beiden Pizzerien in Ponte a Bozione - ca 2 Kilometer entfernt - haben wir als sehr gut empfunden. Es war sehr lecker und preislich mehr als ok.
