La Villa dei Pozzi is a villa built in the 70s yet recently restored into a comfortably modern Tuscan villa with many designer pieces. The villa is in the countryside, only 2km from the town Terranuova Bracciolini.
The pool is in a secluded position to the back of the villa. It is a sunny area with a tree and pergola providing some welcoming shade. Around it there are comfortable sun-beds. There are some views of the Chianti to one side.
In front of the villa there is a lovely covered terrace. It is furnished with a large Italian Travertine table surrounded by teakwood chairs. This table can comfortably seat up to 10 people. From this terrace there is access to the inside dining area.
The front door and a set of double French doors both lead into the large, bright and spacious dining room. In the room there is a large wooden table surrounded by modern white leather chairs. Above the table there a huge Swarovski chandelier providing plenty of light for evening dining indoors. To one side is an antique Tuscan chest of drawers with a traditional marble top. Against the back wall is a big working fireplace. The floor is paved with terracotta tiles.
Off this room there is the state of the art kitchen which has plenty of work space on the aluminum countertops. It is fully equipped with plenty of utensils, cutlery and Villeroy & Boch china. There are 4 electric hobs, a fridge with separate freezer compartment, oven and dishwasher. To one side of the room is a wooden table with 4 chairs. Large French doors lead outside to where there is a gas powered barbeque.
From the dining room internal double, French doors provide access to the lounge. This is a large, light filled room with French doors out to the garden and pool area. To one side of the room there is a large white leather, angle sofa by Saba. In front of it is a hide rug and a big antique wood cupboard filled with glassware.
Two cowhide chairs with pouffes complete this side of the lounge. There is a single step up to the other side of the room where there is a second sofa with animal hide rug. There is a big flat screen tv and a large bookcase which covers one wall.
Off the dining room there are wooden stairs which lead to the basement level of the property. They lead into a bright storeroom with laundry and airing facilities. There is an indoor laundry hanging frame and a second fridge with freezer. To one side is a separate toilet. There is the possibility to make up an extra single bed in this room. Through a door to the left is a simple games room which is furnished with a table with chairs, fireplace and a sofa. To the back is the villa technical room where the washing machine is located. There is also a shower in this room.
From the dining room the wooden stairs also go up to the first floor, which is where all the bedrooms are located. This floor of the villa is tiled with large modern tiles which compliment the decor.
All the bedrooms are furnished with low double beds with black headboards. There is a Philppe Starck chair in each room. The bedside tables are composed of lovely leather trays on which personal items can be placed. In each room there is a modern wardrobe of open shelving with hanging space below.
The first of the bedrooms has a large window that looks out to the front of the property. From here there are double French doors which access the master bedroom. The room can also be accessed from the corridor. Here there is a large closed wardrobe along one wall and doors out onto a balcony. En-suite is a bathroom with huge shower and a door to the balcony.
The other two double bedrooms are across the corridor. Between them there is a large bathroom with shower. All the bedrooms are lighted by elegant Swarovski chandeliers.
At Terranuova Bracciolini there is the exit of the highway, making this villa perfect for sightseeing many of the main Tuscan towns, however there is a slight hum from the road although it cannot be seen from the property. The country road that is to the front of the villa has only an occasional car passing.
The gardens and olive groves that surround La Villa dei Pozzi are completely fenced, providing the property good privacy and security.
The garden is covered with gravel where there is no paving for the terrace areas.

Pool Info
The pool is to one side of the villa. It is protected by a a hedge which surrounds it on three sides and to the back there is a sloped olive grove. Looking over the hedge, past the villa to one side there are some views of the Chianti. To one side of the pool is an outdoor shower.
Around the pool is a paved sun deck dotted with sunbeds, this leads onto a graveled area which provides more space to relax at the pool. To one side is a pergola shaded by a lovely creeper. Here there is a small table with 4 chairs. To one side there is a large tree which provides shade for part of the day.
The pool is 12x6 metres and 1.2 to 2 metres deep. It's an older pool and there are a couple of stains on the lining at the bottom. It's open from May to October.

Nearest town
Terranuova Bracciolini is the nearest town. It is about 2km away. It has a selection of shops, several banks, post office and other services. There is also a large choice of restaurants. There is a cafè within walking distance, about 900metres away

I like To Tuscany, partly because it has a tremendous range of villas, and partly because (unlike many companies) it has an excellent website that provides what you really want when choosing a villa.

Our accommodation, which cost less than £800 for the week, is in a converted stone farmhouse next to a 12th Century Franciscan chapel. There is a pergola shaded by vines round the back here we quickly settle into a rhythm of eating long pasta suppers while the shadows lengthen.
